A lot of people assume dimensional lumber is straight and stays that way. But even kiln-dried lumber that is straight in the store, can start to twist, bow, or cup once it gets to the job site and gets some rain on it. Good carpenters know the tricks of the trade to force it square as they are nailing it together. This is why they use one nail for every two inches of board width. The warp is not strong enough to pull those nails out, and just goes back to straight after a while of being nailed together straight. I learned that on a DIY job building with wet treated wood! Half of my deck 2x6 boards had to be clamped to the joists before I screwed them down. I inspected them for straightness in the store when I bought them.

Might be time to invest in a man lift. Work smarter, not harder.

They run about $ 25,000 for a used 4 wheel drive telescopic lift just in case anyone was wondering....

Most builders still use scaffolding instead of lifts in these parts. Suggest tethering those nail guns when someone is below, especially no hard hats in use, avoid a big headache in more ways than one.

Ok Ok Ok ~ not gonna lie ~ I thought about being a little creative by consulting my old "Roger's Thesaurus" for synonyms for Vertical.. Not there. But Goggle had: upstanding, sheer, steep, and upright - or just up. I threw in Altitude and got loftiness and height. There's a category in the Roger's Thesaurus for MOTION which offers ascent, elevation and leap. I did not look for Lift. Errr ~ because you guys didn't have that. So there ya go. Maybe if you guys would just grow wings. Yea, just wings. ✨ Best Wishes ✨🌸🌟🌸✨

I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. I think I mentioned before, I like to build things and see the completed product. I would love to build my own cabin someday, or buy a small one and add on to it myself. I enjoy your calm demeanor and your sense of humor! Take care!

It is rather surprising how the weather changes, slowly but surely. . . . in Calgary the snow started on Monday. Drivers forget that streets get slippery with the white stuff. Shovelling it is so much "fun". Imagine clearing a roof off before proceeding. I noticed that the owners are moving in already. Thank you for posting your video. I am looking forward to seeing the stairs being built.

Like I said in the last video time to invest in a lift. I have no idea how much they cost but if you approached a manufacturer they might sponser your channel since you are nearly at 200K. Good luck

Ken some days I really feel like you guys could really benefit from a few sections of scaffolding and some walk planks.

I would put. 2, quiet cool, gable attic fans in . The green model, on low speed each uses, 22 watts, less than pennies to operate. They well also extend the life of the roof, by keeping attic cooler in summer.

oh me;;;this brings back memories;;;of course we didn't go two story high but when just two still a lift;;;lol;;;we had what we called a j bar with rope attached to top and went up ladder and pulled up t 11 with rope and j bar while keep top from tipping and set on scab;;;worked great but was slow lots of prep time between;;;;third man always helps even if they be flyinng around trying to hit co-workers with drone;;;lol;;;good one and keep em comin;;;ya know I always give ya a thumbs up;;;;
