    The part that gets to me is the mom did all the horrible stuff. But in the end it meant nothing. The Devil was just playing a game to see if he could corrupt people and make them do horrible things. He used the love and care of the mother to see how far his sick game can get. And it went the furthest making the daughter shoot her mother in the end of the film. And it turns out with the doll and the gun, that the devil was always in control and nothing could stop him. The devil was just having fun messing with these church people for 20+ years. And he'll just keep doing it as long as he wants.

    after i watched this movie at a late night showing, i literally could not concentrate. i was so disturbed but intrigued, like the multiple camera angles that should be a jump scare shot, aren’t but you are waiting for it and now you are even more on edge. what made this even worse for was the idea of how much i missed the devil in the backgrounds, which is literally the whole point of the movie with the idea of the devil is always watching. an amazing movie, i will forever wish to watch it for the first time again!

    I just got bored mid-way... My take on the movie: It's like The Silence of the Lambs...... but without cannibal.
    So, there's no mind games.
    I was honestly bored 😔.
    .... and yes, I was edging on being bored in The Silence of the Lambs.

    It's the lengths taken to pad the movie that got me.
    Reading some comments, I'm seeing that her being semi-psychic is also literally padding. It added nothing to the movie. It's just introduced and then never plays a part in the movie. Seriously... How much time did they spend on that? A solid 10 minutes?

    So much padding, it's unfortunate...

    (At least, Oppenheimer was a constant barrage of dialogue)
